Multidimensional Child Poverty and Deprivation in Uganda: Appendix One
The Extent and Nature of Multidimensional Poverty and Deprivation in Uganda
Highlights
This appendix accompanies Volume 1 of the Multidimensional Child Poverty and Deprivation in Uganda Report. The report consists of two appendices. Appendix 1 explains in detail how multidimensional poverty in Uganda was measured for Volume 1. This step-by-step guide is based on a methodology that allows the ‘best’ set of deprivation indicators to be selected and also the rejection of inadequate indicators. This approach resulted in the selection of 35 material and social deprivation questions by UBOS used in this report. Appendix 2 describes how equivalization was achieved, and adjustments made to account for differences in household type and composition.
