Friendship boosts happiness, well-being and self-confidence, and promotes a positive outlook on life for our children. For children, making friends is a vital part of growing up and an essential part of their social and emotional development.

The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), the first legally binding international instrument to incorporate the full range of human rights-civil, cultural, economic, political and social rights, sets out the basic human rights that ALL children everywhere have. These include: the right to survival; to develop to the fullest; to protection from harmful influences, abuse and exploitation; and to participate fully in family, cultural and social life
