Highlights

The National Social Protection Policy Framework (NSPPF)’s monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework provides a structured format for implementing partners to share programme data with the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare (MGCSW), the National Social Protection Working Group (NSPWG) and its members, and social protection stakeholders. The M&E framework for the NSPPF is based on the wealth of data being collected by implementing partners as part of regular social protection programme activities.

This annual report covering the period from January to December 2020, supported by UNICEF for the NSPWG, provides key performance indicator data against the NSPPF’s M&E framework for South Sudan’s six main non-contributory social protection programmes: South Sudan Safety Net Project (SSSNP); Food Assistance for Assets (FFA); Building Resilience through Asset Creation (BRACE) Phase II; Urban Safety Nets (USN): cash-for-training for vulnerable urban households; Girls’ Education South Sudan (GESS) Phase 2; School Feeding Programme (SFP), in collaboration with World Bank, UNOPS, WFP and GESS team.

The information will be used to inform policymakers, programme implementers and development partners to directly influence programme planning and design processes as well as resource management.
