WASH Priority Projects

For UNICEF State of Palestine

Highlights

In the Gaza Strip, damaged water and sanitation systems continue to put children’s health, safety and dignity at risk. UNICEF’s seven priority WASH projects were developed together with the Palestinian Water Authority to help restore life-saving water, wastewater and stormwater services for families and displaced communities across the Gaza Strip.

From rehabilitating sewage and stormwater infrastructure in Gaza City to restoring local water supply systems and supporting emergency repairs to the Mekorot transmission lines, these interventions address urgent public health risks while laying the groundwork for early recovery.

Timely approval and entry of supplies are critical to ensuring that these projects can move forward and help protect children from preventable disease, unsafe water and deteriorating living conditions.
