Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey 2013

Highlights

The 2013 Montenegro MICS survey is part of the 5th round of MICS surveys (MICS5), scheduled for 2012-2014. The survey was conducted in 2013 by the Statistical Office of Montenegro (MONSTAT) with technical and financial support of UNICEF Montenegro. The survey was carried in Montenegro on two samples — a national sample representative of the whole population of Montenegro (refer to Montenegro sample); and a Roma Settlements sample representative of the population living in Roma settlements in Montenegro. The survey provides valuable information on the situation of children, women and men in Montenegro crating a rich foundation of comparative data for comprehensive reporting on progress towards national MDGs targets and EU integration. The 2013 Montenegro MICS survey captures rapid changes in key indicators between this and previous round of the survey especially regarding the situation of the most vulnerable children - children in the poorest households, Roma children or those living in rural areas - and in that way contributes to expanding the evidence-base for policies and programmes. Survey implementation was made possible through the financial support of UNICEF and UN Montenegro.
