The Blue Dot project
In 2020, UNICEF launched The Blue Dot project, which invited children living in the Middle East and North Africa region to create art in support of a better future for all living in our Blue Dot -the Planet Earth. Participants were children below the age of 18. UNICEF Middle East and North Africa would like to warmly congratulate and thank all of the children who submitted artwork for The Blue Dot’s themes: Save the Planet Earth, Recently I learned, Friendship, For the Children in Beirut, Back to School, and the International Day of Peace.
The winning submissions are featured in this digital book, in appreciation to the artwork of the participating children.
The story of the dot

Every two weeks we will announce one of the 7 themes. We will select the most creative works. If your artwork gets selected, your artwork will be published in a digital book which will be shown worldwide!
It's okay if you don't think you have strong writing or artistic abilities. What's most important is that you have a UNIQUE, EXCITING and INTERESTING ideas that can make the Blue Dot, our planet Earth a better place to live for all.

Before we start
Remember, if you feel unsafe, upset, or worried about yourself or a friend during or after you work on your submission, speak to someone you trust – this could be a parent, teacher, close friend, older sibling, or call a child helpline. You are not alone - do not keep your fears, concerns or questions to yourself. We know it can be difficult to tell another person about what is happening, but you have a right to be safe. If it's difficult to talk about, try writing your experiences down and giving it to someone you trust to read or by sending/ posting/ dropping it anonymously somewhere a responsible/ trusted adult can see.
You can withdraw your entry to the Blue Dot project by sending a written notice to thebluedot@unicef.org
