Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!

Once upon a time plastic was considered as one of the greatest discoveries of the 20th century. A material that was so wonderfully cheap, resistant, moldable, and durable. Plastic could be used for almost anything: Telephones, kitchen appliances, clothes, toys and even spacecrafts.
Little did we know that all the plastic waste we have created follow us around for many years. This plastic pollution has made it to our rivers, mountains, farming fields, and oceans across the BLUE DOT.
But, it’s not too late! Together, we can help the BLUE DOT breathe again. Collective action must be required!
Say NO to single use plastics! And say YES to a healthy BLUE DOT!
The Blue Dot project
In 2020, we launched the Blue Dot project. Through this project you expressed yourselves through artistic expressions on 7 themes and your selected submissions were published on our social media pages as well as the Blue Dot dedicated webpage.
The Blue Dot CLEAN project
Now it’s time to introduce the Blue Dot CLEAN, in collaboration with the British Council to utilize the project for raising awareness about one of the most pressing environmental issues of the region: reducing plastic waste.
The aim is to promote:
- Re-using and recycling at home
- Reducing consumption of single use plastic at household level
- Raise awareness about negative impact of littering.
Last year we focused on artwork, but this year we are accepting projects, including art projects. If you're 18 or under, we are inviting you to create a project related to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! Take good photos of your painting, drawing, poetry, short stories, music, videos or even send out presentations and your own research.
We are sure that every child, every one of you, have a UNIQUE, EXCITING, and INTERESTING ideas that can make the Blue Dot, our planet Earth a better place to live for all.
We are waiting for your projects. Make sure your parents send them to us before the 15th of March 2022
It is important that you and parents have read our Terms and Conditions.
You can download some useful resources and inspirations in the Blue Dot Clean toolkit.
