Highlights

We will always remember 2020 for the challenges COVID-19 threw our way and how it threatened to derail our hard-won gains in creating a healthier, safer, more hopeful and equitable future for children everywhere.

Following the onset of COVID-19, we immediately mobilized to reduce transmission of the virus and ensure the continuity of life-saving services – this was a global response from UNICEF and it happened in Malaysia too.

In Malaysia, we tackled the pandemic by working with Mercy Malaysia to deliver over 277,000 face masks, 43,334 bars of soap, 2,200 bottles of hand sanitizers and 268 contactless thermometers to 73,500 children and their families.

With your help, we reached tens of thousands of low-income families, undocumented refugee children in immigration detention centres, and young people with disabilities who were doing their best to cope with the uncertainties around COVID-19.

As we race towards helping every child and their family recover from the COVID-19 crisis, we hope you’ll continue to remain just as committed as we are to make their lives better.
