What is UNICEF Face-to-Face fundraising?

UNICEF’s Face-to-Face (F2F) fundraising programme gives members of the public an opportunity to learn more about UNICEF’s work and support children through regular giving.

Our trained fundraisers meet members of the public at shopping malls, events, commercial buildings and other public locations across Malaysia.

Regular donations provide UNICEF with reliable support to plan and deliver long-term programmes for children in Malaysia and around the world.

Where can I meet UNICEF fundraisers?

UNICEF fundraisers operate at various locations, including shopping malls, events, business and commercial buildings in Kuala Lumpur, the Klang Valley and other states across Malaysia.

Why does UNICEF use Face-to-Face fundraising?

Meeting people face-to-face gives us an opportunity to speak directly with members of the public about the challenges children face and how UNICEF works to address them.

Regular giving also provides UNICEF with a steady source of funding that supports long-term programmes for children.

Identifying a UNICEF Fundraiser

How can I identify a genuine UNICEF fundraiser?

UNICEF fundraisers can be identified by their UNICEF-branded attire and official identification badge.

Their ID badge includes information such as their name, fundraiser identification number and UNICEF contact details.

UNICEF fundraisers do not accept cash donations.

If you would like to verify the identity of a fundraiser, you may contact the UNICEF Donor Care team and provide the fundraiser’s name or ID number.

Who manages UNICEF’s Face-to-Face fundraising programme?

UNICEF Malaysia works with professional fundraising partners to support our Face-to-Face fundraising activities.

Fundraisers receive training before carrying out fundraising activities on behalf of UNICEF.

Making a Donation

How can I donate through a UNICEF fundraiser?

Our Face-to-Face fundraising programme is designed for people who would like to support UNICEF through regular donations.

Your fundraiser will guide you through the registration process and explain the available payment options.

What payment methods are accepted?

• Auto-debit from a Maybank account

UNICEF fundraisers do not accept cash donations.

Can I make a one-off donation?

The Face-to-Face programme is intended for regular giving.

If you prefer to make a one-off donation, you can donate directly through UNICEF Malaysia’s online donation page.

Every contribution supports UNICEF’s work for children.

What happens after I sign up for regular giving?

Once your donation has been successfully registered, future donations will be automatically processed according to the giving frequency you selected.

For example, if you choose to donate monthly, your donation will be processed automatically each month.

Why is regular giving important?

Regular donations provide UNICEF with a reliable source of funding that helps us plan ahead and sustain long-term programmes for children.

This support enables UNICEF to respond to immediate needs while continuing work in areas such as health, nutrition, education, child protection, water and sanitation, and emergency response.

UNICEF is funded entirely through voluntary contributions from governments, businesses, organisations and members of the public. Regular donors are therefore an important part of making our work for children possible.

UNICEF uses donor contributions to support its mission for children, including programmes and activities that protect children’s rights and improve their well-being.

Your support contributes to UNICEF’s work for children in Malaysia and around the world.

How long do I have to continue donating?

You remain in control of your giving.

You can request to change or stop your regular donation by contacting UNICEF Donor Care.

We hope you will continue supporting children for as long as you are able, as regular contributions enable UNICEF to plan and sustain long-term work for children.

Will I receive updates about UNICEF’s work?

Yes. As a UNICEF donor, you may receive updates about our work and the difference donor support makes for children in Malaysia and around the world.

Does UNICEF sell merchandise through Face-to-Face fundraisers?

No. UNICEF fundraisers do not sell merchandise at Face-to-Face booths or on the streets as part of this fundraising programme.

Why does UNICEF work with professional fundraising partners?

Face-to-Face fundraising requires dedicated teams, training, management and ongoing operational support.

Working with professional fundraising partners allows UNICEF to engage trained fundraisers who can speak with members of the public about our work and regular giving.

Why doesn’t UNICEF use volunteers for Face-to-Face fundraising?

Face-to-Face fundraising requires regular working hours, specific training and an ongoing commitment.

Volunteers continue to play an important role in supporting UNICEF through other activities, while Face-to-Face fundraising is carried out by trained professional fundraisers.
