Talking to youth in Mwangenja village . Here I learnt that during floods, when families relocate to camps, girls have a hardtime adjusting especially if there no proper WASH facilities to use during menstruation. I also learnt that the youths are traumised from years of experiencing floods so much that they need psychosocial support to cope with their feelings of loss and fear.

The youth in Mlomwe area would like to participate in dissemination of early warnings of floods. Currently they can’t participate because they lack equipment like radios and bicycles that would aid in message transmission. They wouls also like to aks mobile phone companies to consider improving the poor phone network in this area.
