What do we do?
We support the government in transforming education in El Salvador by offering innovative and quality educational opportunities to all children and adolescents, especially the most vulnerable; out-of-school, impoverished, with disabilities, pregnant, migrants, displaced, or victims of violence.
For this purpose, our cooperation focuses on:
- Supporting the education sector's planning processes, designing materials for flexible modalities and adapting them to virtual platforms and multimedia content, strengthening the Education Management Information System in El Salvador, generating evidence and implementing pilot projects of methodologies and models that support school reintegration, educational continuity, successful educational transition and learning recovery.
- Facilitating inter-institutional and intersectoral coordination to increase sustainable investment in early childhood, helping ensure that all children under 8, especially the most vulnerable, have access to quality early childhood development services that contribute to their comprehensive development.
- Contributing to the teacher training plan, specifically in socio-educational and psychological support processes focusing on children’s and adolescents’ school retention and reintegration, particularly returnees, internally displaced, victims of violence and pregnant adolescents.
-
Collaborate in the implementation of strategies to reduce digital divides and promote learning, facilitating:
-
Government procurement processes of technological devices for students and teachers, including devices for students with disabilities.
-
Provision of Internet connectivity solutions for schools in the coastal strip.
-
Creation of quality digital educational content to promote virtual or hybrid learning.
-
Promotion of digital skills in students and teachers.
-
- Working in coordination with the government and local NGOs to institutionalize methodologies that promote respectful parenting practices and coexistence to prevent violence and mitigate the adverse effects of stress in families and educational communities. On the one hand, the "Soy Música" (I am Music) methodology promotes safe and gender-sensitive environments at home, school and in the community. On the other hand, the virtual modality "También soy Persona” (I am also a person) promotes positive family interactions throughout children’s and adolescents’ development stages, with a special focus on men.
- Assist the educational system in responding to emergencies, update institutional planning documents and school protection plans.
- Leading the education sector in the coordination of humanitarian response.
