Highlights

Kenya’s National Safety Net Programme provides cash transfers alongside complementary services to individuals and households facing a range of vulnerabilities and risks. Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, several myths continue to circulate around the use of cash transfers, which have been central to combatting poverty, building resilience, stimulating local economies and protecting the poorest in society. This info sheet responds to six such myths drawing on evidence from Kenya.
