Become a Young UNICEF Climate Action Advocate
Opportunities for primary and secondary school students to make their voices heard to protect their future planet

Children bear the greatest burden of climate change. Not only are they more vulnerable than adults to the extreme weather, toxic hazards and diseases this change causes, but the planet is becoming a more dangerous place to live. As such, UNICEF believes that children and youth have a vital role to play in climate action and that their voices and ideas should be central to the response, if we are to bring about sustainable change.
Young Jamaicans are in a position both to influence their peers and to educate others in society about the need to act, now. Our Junior and Youth Climate Action Advocates Programme is therefore intended to ensure the implementation of child sensitive policies and programmes that promote urgent and participatory climate action, sustainable development and enhance the resilience and participation of children.
