UNICEF and Ministry of Health orgnize training workshop on Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission

In a joint cooperation between the Ministry of Health and UNICEF Iran, and with the direct support of UNICEF Middle East and North Africa Regional Office, a three- day virtual workshop was held for experts and decision-makers from the Islamic Republic of Iran, from 30th  May to 1st June 2022, on successful experiences of the Kingdom of Thailand in Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission (EMTCT) of HIV and Syphilis.

In this three day online workshop, experts from Thailand’s Ministry of Health shared their success stories and lessons learnt on a variety of topics such as “Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission Programme(PMTCT) and service delivery for both HIV and Syphilis, Data and information management system as well as the EMTCT validation process and laboratory system”.

UNICEF has supported Iran’s PMTCT programme since its launch in 2014 and continues to assist the Ministry of Health and Medical Education in its endeavors to expand service coverage and achieve EMTCT.
