In November 2025, UNICEF launched the PROMISE bracelet. Rooted in the cultural significance of promises in Arab societies, this bracelet reflects the value placed on standing by one’s word and stepping up in times of need. It also represents a meaningful monthly commitment to children across the region and beyond. It is offered to supporters in the UAE who make a monthly contribution, serving as a visible expression of solidarity and shared responsibility.
Guided by a strong belief in the power of community, the PROMISE initiative brought together trusted voices who share UNICEF’s values. Content creators and loving parents, Nora Achmaoui and Khalid Alherani, were among the first to experience the bracelet, wearing it months before its official launch and helping bring its meaning to life. They said: “Making promises for children in need is [a way of] saving their future, and this is the most important thing.”
Nora and Khalid made a promise for every child
Monthly giving plays a critical role in sustaining UNICEF’s work. These contributions help protect children’s lives in the long term while providing flexible and reliable funding that enables UNICEF to remain prepared to respond when emergencies arise.
UNICEF's mission is made possible thanks to our dedicated community of supporters whose commitment strengthens our teams’ ability to deliver for children.
You, too, can be part of this community and join Nora and Khalid. By making a monthly promise of AED 260 or more in the UAE, you help deliver lasting impact and receive the PROMISE Bracelet as a symbol of the difference you are making in children’s lives.
