JERUSALEM/ KUWAIT, 22 December 2025 – The UNICEF Gulf Area Office welcomed the contribution made by the Tanmeia Charity Society in support of UNICEF’s nutrition programmes for children in the Gaza Strip, including children with disabilities and their families, to ensure their access to essential and life-saving nutrition services.

This contribution comes within the framework of the close humanitarian partnership between the State of Kuwait and UNICEF, reflecting the ongoing cooperation to support vulnerable children in crisis-affected areas around the world. The initiative embodies Kuwait’s longstanding humanitarian approach to advancing global relief and development efforts, reaffirming its role as a key UNICEF partner in assisting children affected by conflict and disaster.

“Children in Gaza are experiencing exceptionally harsh and challenging humanitarian conditions as they face daily the consequences of conflict, violence, displacement, and the collapse of basic services essential for their survival. Children with disabilities are among the most affected in this crisis,” said Lana Al-Wreikat, Director of UNICEF Gulf Area Office. “The contribution from Tanmeia Charity Society represents a new glimpse of hope, enabling UNICEF to deliver life-saving nutrition services to hundreds of children across the Gaza Strip through the provision of essential nutrition supplies in health facilities, community centres, and shelters, including ready-to-use complementary food for young children.” She added.

Dr. Nasser Al-Ajmi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tanmeia Charity Society, said, "The partnership with UNICEF comes in response to the urgent needs of children amid limited health services, given the continued presence of malnutrition cases, and will help strengthen care for those most at risk. Tanmeia’s ongoing humanitarian and development efforts in serving the people of Gaza through health and nutrition projects, show its commitment to its humanitarian mission.”

“This partnership represents an important step toward enhancing joint action, with gratitude to all supporters whose contributions have sustained and expanded the Society’s projects and impact. The Society is considered a leading humanitarian organization, working to develop underserved communities through support with basic relief, education, and capacity building.

UNICEF in the State of Palestine, together with its partners, continues to scale up efforts to meet the urgent needs of children amid one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises. These efforts include the provision of life-saving nutrition commodities such as ready-to-use infant formula, ready-to-use complementary and therapeutic foods, and essential vitamin and mineral supplements. However, the need for these critical supplies continues, given the continued presence of acute malnutrition cases among children in the Gaza Strip
