JERUSALEM, KUWAIT, 22 DECEMBER 2025 - As part of ongoing humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of children and families in the Gaza Strip, the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Charity Society in Kuwait has made a generous contribution of US$1 million to support UNICEF’s nutrition and health interventions.

This partnership will enable UNICEF to provide lifesaving nutrition support to nearly 25,000 children through the distribution of ready-to-use supplementary foods for children aged 6 to 23 months, made available across health facilities, community centres, and shelters. The contribution will also help strengthen access to primary healthcare services for around 200,000 children by supporting health centres with essential medical supplies and equipment.

“The Gaza Strip is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis that has taken a devastating toll on children. Continued violence, mass displacement, and the near-total collapse of infrastructure have deprived countless children of safe care and access to basic services,” said Lana Wreikat, Director of UNICEF Gulf Area Office.

“We are proud of our longstanding partnership with the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Charity Society, which continues to stand with the most vulnerable children in crisis-affected areas. This generous contribution will help UNICEF meet some of the rapidly growing needs as malnutrition cases among children in the Gaza Strip continue to be identified.” she added.

This partnership shows the commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts for children and families affected by crises worldwide, emphasizing that this initiative reflects Kuwait’s enduring humanitarian role and solidarity with those in need.

“Children — including children with disabilities — are among the most affected by the crisis, underscoring the urgent need for swift and effective relief efforts,” said Eng. Jamal Abdulkhaleq Al-Nouri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Charity Society, expressed his gratitude to and the supporters. “UNICEF was selected as a trusted partner with the capacity to deliver aid inside the Gaza Strip despite severe access challenges,” he added. He emphasized the Society’s openness to building international and local partnerships, in line with the regulations of the relevant Kuwaiti authorities and committed to supporting vulnerable families in Gaza through food, health, and relief programmes.”
