Dear colleagues, partners and friends,

It is with deep pride, appreciations to our numerous generous partners, and renewed determination that I present the UNICEF Guinea-Bissau 2025 Country Office Annual Report. In a country too often overlooked, 2025 stands as a powerful testament to what is possible when children are at the center of national priorities and collective action. This year brought important progress for children and continued a journey that we have pursued together in one of the world’s most overlooked contexts.

In a face of political uncertainty and persistent operational constraints, one truth emerged with unmistakable clarity: the children, adolescents and communities of Guinea Bissau are resilient, resourceful and full of promise. Alongside steadfast partners, UNICEF remained on the ground with strong and deeply commitment, and ensured the continuity of life-saving services, strengthened national systems and delivered tangible results, protecting lives today and building the foundation for a more equitable tomorrow.

In 2025 alone, UNICEF delivered a USD 15 million programme, bringing the total cumulative Country Programme expenditure to over USD 43 million of the planned USD 45 million since 2022. In addition, UNICEF facilitated nearly USD7 million in procurement services, ensuring the availability of essential supplies and reinforcing national delivery systems at scale. These investments translated into to improved health, safety communities and stronger opportunities for children across the country.
