UNICEF and CSR Hellas sign MoU to promote child rights within the Greek business sector
UNICEF and CSR Hellas signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the respect and support of children’s rights within the Greek business community

Athens, 14 July 2025 – The vision of the two partners is to raise awareness among Greek businesses on how they can further integrate child rights into business operations and infrastructure, thereby preventing and mitigating impacts on children and achieving results for them .
The MoU was signed by Ghassan Khalil, UNICEF Representative in Greece, and Alexandra Palli, Chair of the Board of Directors of CSR Hellas, highlighting the shared commitment of both organizations to promote corporate responsibility to respect and support child rights , as stipulated in the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Key Activities agreed in the MoU include:
- The generation of evidence to produce data and analysis to fill policy gaps and increase awareness of children’s and youth’s welfare in Greece, including conducting a benchmark assessment of child rights and family-friendly policies across Greek businesses to inform future activities.
- Organizing public awareness activities, including public events and dissemination of findings, to bring together multiple stakeholders from the business sector to solidify partnerships for policy dialogue and action.
- Delivering training and capacity-building programmes for CSR Hellas members, including specialized modules within the annual CSR School curriculum.
- Translating and disseminating key UNICEF business guidance materials into Greek, such as the Family-Friendly Policies Tool and Child Rights and Sustainable Development Due Diligence Guidance.
- Supporting resource mobilization efforts aimed at improving the lives of children and families in Greece.
UNICEF Representative in Greece Ghassan Khalil said about the partnership:
“This is an important step in bringing the voice and rights of children into the business discourse in Greece. Through collaboration with the business sector, we can ensure that corporate practices respect and promote the well-being of children now and in the future”.
Ms. Palli, Chair of the Board of Directors of CSR Hellas, said:
