Child Friendly Cities and Communities Handbook

This Handbook provides an introduction to the international context and the basic principles of the Child Friendly Cities Programme.

About

This Handbook provides guidance on how to design a Child-Friendly City. It introduces the global framework and the basic principles of the Child-Friendly Cities Initiative (CFCI). It also offers a step-by-step description of the various CFCI phases, including the situation analysis, the implementation, the monitoring and evaluation process, as well as the criteria for the recognition of a city as child-friendly. At the same time, this Handbook leaves adequate room for adaptation of the CFCI to the local context, needs and priorities of each city.
