Highlights
Every parent wants their child to grow up healthy and strong. To support this goal, UNICEF, in partnership with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), and with support from the European Union, has introduced telemedicine to enhance child growth and development, especially in rural communities.
Telemedicine uses digital communication technologies - such as video calls, mobile apps, and online platforms - to deliver healthcare services remotely. This approach allows families to consult with medical professionals and receive expert guidance without needing to travel to healthcare facilities. As a result, healthcare becomes more accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of children and their families.
The following activities were carried out as part of this initiative. While these efforts demonstrate significant progress, achieving sustainable, long-term impact will require continued collaboration with the government and a formal commitment to integrate the results into the national health system.
