Libreville, November 20, 2025 – On the occasion of World Children’s Day, UNICEF Gabon and Gabon 1ère, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Family and Child Protection, honored children during an exceptional event attended by the Minister of Women, Family and Child Protection and the Minister of Social Affairs and Inclusion. The event featured two major highlights: the launch of the program “My Voice – My Rights” and the official appointment of Mrs. Eudoxie Bridges as UNICEF Gabon Ambassador.
This year’s celebration took on a special dimension with the participation of Eudoxie Bridges, an engaged personality and a source of inspiration for youth. Her appointment as UNICEF Gabon Ambassador symbolizes a renewed commitment to defending children’s rights. Through her involvement, she will amplify the voices of Gabonese children and support UNICEF’s efforts for their well-being, protection, education, and development.
“We are honored to welcome Eudoxie Bridges to the UNICEF Gabon family. Her commitment and influence will strengthen advocacy around children’s rights and inspire many young people to speak up and defend their rights,” said Dr. Marie-Reine Chirezi Fabry, UNICEF Representative in Gabon.
The event also featured the launch of the program “My Voice – My Rights” on Gabon 1ère, an unprecedented platform for children’s expression. This initiative gives them the opportunity to share their experiences, dreams, and concerns, and to actively participate in public debate.
A key moment of the day was the children’s debate on the theme “My Voice, My Rights.” During this session, children spoke out to tell their stories, share their testimonies, and express their expectations regarding the challenges they face daily. This exchange highlighted the richness and diversity of their experiences while emphasizing the importance of listening to and valuing young voices in building a fairer and more inclusive society.
World Children’s Day 2025 reminds us of the importance of collective mobilization to prevent and address all forms of violence against children. This year, it coincides with Gabon’s entry as a member of the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children. UNICEF Gabon, alongside its new Ambassador and partners, reaffirms its commitment to building a Gabon where every child grows up safe, respected, and loved.
