My name is Caden Fahie, and I am an 18-year-old mental health and environmental advocate from the British Virgin Islands.

I embody youth, humility, and an unyielding eagerness for growth. Advocacy is the driving force behind my endeavours. From a young age, a diverse array of interests captured my curiosity—ranging from technology and environmental issues to the intricacies of the human brain.

My advocacy journey began during high school, where I played a vital role on the Student Council, effectively representing the opinions of the entire student body.

After high school, I immersed myself in the field of Environmental Activism, assuming the role of Public Relations Officer for a local Non-Profit Organisation called Green VI. I have delivered speeches and presentations across the islands of the BVI, covering crucial topics such as Waste Management, Upcycling, Circular Economy, and Resilience.

Despite the initial challenges of stepping into unfamiliar territory, I have always tried to embrace the philosophy of 'Kaizen,' embodying continuous improvement. I firmly believe in placing myself in uncomfortable positions as a catalyst for personal and professional growth.

As my experience and responsibilities grew, I pursued studies in Computer Science at his local college, HLSCC. I have also discovered a newfound passion for diving, earning three certifications, including Advanced Diving. This qualification has empowered me to conduct Coral Treatments across my region, addressing the impact of Coral Bleaching—a consequence of water temperature changes due to global warming.

In the Mental Advocacy aspect, I have hosted and participated many youth talks and forums with the Department of Youth Affairs in my country that allow youth to speak freely on topics such as “Expectations” , “Career Goals”, “Balancing Life” and “Managing School”.

Additionally, I am the Vice President of the Interact Club of Road Town. This club creates a space for youth from different backgrounds to come together and give back to the community through service projects.

I am especially interested in delving into books on the Psychology of the Mind as I aspire to contribute more to the field of Mental Health, aiming to challenge societal norms imposed on both men and women. In the foreseeable future, I want intent to continue my commitment to environmental advocacy, with a special focus on mental health advocacy.
