UNICEF Country Profiles
Our work in the Eastern Caribbean
Highlights
UNICEF has programmes in 12 countries and territories in the Eastern Caribbean: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadine, Trinidad and Tobago and Turks and Caicos Islands.
Although there are common issues across these nations in the spheres of education, child protection, social protection and climate resilience, each has its own particular characteristics and needs.
The country profiles give a background and an overview of the situation in every country and territory in terms of the main issues faced and how UNICEF is working with partners to respond to them.
Additionally, we include specific programmes profiles exploring how UNICEF is responding to challenges in the key programmatic areas mentioned above.
UNICEF is also highly active in the humanitarian emergencies that plague the Caribbean such as hurricanes, flooding and volcanic eruptions. The UNICEF in humanitarian action profiles highlight what we are doing to help children, and their families become more resilient and prepare for such emergencies as effectively as possible and set out on the road to recover when they occur.
