Volunteers at UNICEF
Volunteer with UNICEF and help us reach every child in need
Volunteering with UNICEF
UNICEF works with volunteers primarily through the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme. If you have an undergraduate degree, several years of work experience and are interested in volunteer opportunities around the world, you may be eligible to become a UNV.
The UNV programme recruits and places volunteers in assignments throughout the United Nations system, including at UNICEF. UNICEF does not recruit UNVs directly but through the UNV programme.
Volunteer opportunities are also offered through our National Committees.
If you represent an organization and would like to partner with us to engage volunteers, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Youth advocates programme: Become an agent of change!
The Youth Advocates Programme has been developed through a partnership between UNICEF and the UN Volunteers programme. This programme offers young people between the ages of 18 and 25 an avenue to act as agents of change. In 2018, 36 national and 9 international Youth Advocates were selected for the first cohort and were deployed to 31 countries.
Through a one-year placement at UNICEF country offices, young people get the opportunity to work on projects focused on bolstering youth engagement and participation. The assignment promises to be a transformational experience for Youth Advocates, as they gain access to a personalized learning plan starting with an induction workshop, followed by e-learning courses, coaching sessions, mentoring and a career transition workshop at the end of the assignment.
We will announce the recruitment for the 2019 cohort through the UNICEF website. Stay tuned!
