FunDoo: Train for Life, One Skill at a Time
UNICEF and Under the Sub Umbra Floreo Lions Club pilot HPV FunDoo
UNICEF Belize has successfully piloted the HPV FunDoo, an interactive digital learning experience designed to help adolescents build knowledge and life skills through fun, game‑based activities.
In partnership with the Sub Umbra Floreo Lions Club, adolescents came together for a dynamic and engaging session learning about the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) including what it is, how it affects their bodies, and why the HPV vaccine is a powerful tool for protection. Through quizzes, challenges, and hands-on activities, participants discovered life-saving information in a format that speaks their language.
Empowering young people with reliable health information is more than education; it's building skills for life. When adolescents understand their bodies and their health risks, they are better equipped to make informed, confident decisions.
By using a platform like FunDoo, we’re helping them:
- Strengthen critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Build health literacy that supports lifelong wellbeing
- Develop confidence to advocate for their own health and that of their peers
- Access credible information in safe, youth-friendly spaces
Knowledge truly is power and these vibrant young participants are walking away better prepared to protect their health and futures.
The HPV FunDoo pilot is only phase one. Soon, the full experience will roll out nationwide through U‑Report Belize, giving even more adolescents the chance to gain skills for life.In the meantime, young people can join U‑Report for updates and access to FunDoo content:
