Highlights

The analytical report was prepared based on the results of a study on the situation of girls and young women not in education, employment or training (NEET) in Ukraine amid socioeconomic transformations and the full-scale war. It analyses the key reasons for girls and young women entering NEET status, including educational, economic, institutional and gender-related barriers, as well as age-specific and social differences between various groups of girls and young women. Special attention is given to vulnerable categories – internally displaced persons, girls and young women with disabilities, rural residents, Roma girls and young women, and girls and young women in difficult life circumstances.

The report presents consolidated findings and practical recommendations for decision makers, civil society organizations and experts involved in shaping employment, education and youth social support policies.

The report was conducted with support from UNICEF under the global initiative POWER4Girls.
