Guides for lawyers on enhancing access to justice for children in conflict with the law
Two new guides for lawyers to strengthen access to justice for children in conflict with the law in Tunisia
Highlights
UNICEF Tunisia, in partnership with the International Legal Foundation (ILF), is pleased to publish two complementary resources aimed at strengthening the quality of support provided to children in conflict with the law:
🔹 Performance Standards for the Representation of Children in Conflict with the Law in Tunisia, which sets out the expected quality standards for specialized legal representation tailored to the needs and rights of children at every stage of judicial proceedings.
🔹 A Comprehensive Approach to Juvenile Justice: How Lawyers and Social Workers Collaborate to Improve Case and Life Outcomes for Children in Conflict with the Law, which highlights the holistic approach developed by UNICEF and ILF, based on close collaboration between lawyers and social workers to address the legal, social, and psychosocial needs of children.
These two guides reaffirm the importance of a child-centered justice system that prioritizes children's rights, rehabilitation, and reintegration, while placing their best interests at the heart of every intervention.
Both guides are available in English and Arabic.
