In Niger, pop musicians strike a chord against Covid-19 and join force to support safe return to schools

Nigerien pop musicians, Yana, Barakina and Limanjah, have released a raft of songs and music videos to raise awareness about Covid-19 and promote a safe return to schools.

“We settled on music as a mode of communication because music is popular in our community and the messages it conveys are easily remembered.”

In Niger, the Government, supported by UNICEF and its partners, launched a national back to school campaign to encourage Nigerien children to return to classrooms while practicing safe behavior to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
