This report focuses on the broad strategic level, rather than going in-depth into the work done at the operational level at the community

About

Niger is one of 13 countries participating in a UNICEF project to carry out country studies, develop strategy notes and promote the exchange of learning on child marriage in West, Central, Eastern and Southern Africa. The purpose of the project is to:

  • Develop a methodology for analysing country situation(s) and identify the highest-impact areas for investment to end child marriage.
  • Support selected UNICEF country offices to understand the child marriage trends, drivers and options for accelerating and amplifying efforts to end the practice in their contexts.
  • Establish and facilitate a platform for South-to-South information and knowledge exchange on issues related to child marriage in West, Central, Eastern and Southern Africa.
