In refugee camps, recreational and cultural activities for children are often scarce. In July 2024, UNICEF, the French Embassy, the French Institute in Jordan, and the Royal Film Commission came together to re-open Cinema al Za’atari in Za’atari Camp. Between October 2024 and July 2025, the cinema has since hosted close to 300 screenings for over 6,000 children, providing support to their education, awareness and entertainment.
