About RITEC

Responsible Innovation in Technology for Children (RITEC) is a global initiative led by UNICEF in partnership with the LEGO Foundation, the LEGO Group, the Joan Ganz Cooney Center and Games for Change to embed children’s wellbeing into everyday digital play design and development across the industry.

About the Community of Practice

The RITEC Community of Practice is a global network of practitioners working to put children's well-being at the centre of digital play design. It brings together designers, developers, product leads, and trust and safety professionals who create digital play experiences to share knowledge, learn from one another, and explore how RITEC research and guidance can be applied in practice.

The community meets regularly online and gathers in person once a year. Community events are open only to members.

Our mission

The Community of Practice helps translate RITEC research into real-world practice. Through peer learning, collaboration, and shared experiences, members explore how to apply RITEC principles across different contexts and help create better digital play experiences for children.
