This inaugural Innovation Node Compendium reflects on the first three years of UNICEF’s possibility-driven exploration to unlock new opportunities for innovation, benefiting children in underserved communities.
Innovation Nodes are transdisciplinary, collaborative spaces designed to explore uncharted areas of innovation, uncovering gaps, opportunities, and unproven approaches. The Nodes illuminate new pathways for investment, transforming insight into impact for children at scale.
This Node Compendium captures the process of discovery and impact we’ve achieved alongside our collaborators. Designed as a guided exploration, it offers insights into the Node approach, the Node Effect (our achievements so far), the domains we’ve ventured into, the knowledge we’ve generated, and the lessons we’ve learned. These include our hybrid methods for measuring impact, the value and outcomes of a transdisciplinary approach, and the importance of placing young people at the core of research efforts. The voices and contributions of young people are woven throughout this document. Lastly, the Compendium celebrates the incredible collaborators we’ve worked with and looks ahead to future opportunities and directions.
