Highlights

UNICEF’s Internet of Good Things (IoGT) is transforming how communities access vital information through a platform that bridges the digital divide. By offering multimedia programming tailored to young people, caregivers, and frontline workers, it reaches those who are often left behind by technology.

Accessible on both basic and smartphones, IoGT is provided free of charge in many countries, thanks to partnerships with mobile network operators. The platform is specifically designed to tackle digital challenges that disproportionately affect low-income and marginalized populations, with a focus on protecting user privacy on shared devices.

Since its launch in 2015, IoGT has reached 45 million people. By 2023, it was operational in 42 countries and available in 23 languages.

This report offers a comprehensive review of IoGT, assessing its impact, innovation, scalability, and sustainability. It also outlines a strategic pathway for expanding its reach and increasing its positive influence on communities worldwide.
