The World Summit for Social Development (WSSD) serves as a global platform to advance inclusive, equitable, and innovative solutions to social challenges.
The second edition, held in Doha, Qatar, from 4 to 6 November 2025, convened over 14,000 participants—including more than 40 Heads of State and Government, 170 ministerial-level representatives, leaders of international organizations, youth, civil society, and delegates from around the world.
A key outcome of the summit was the adoption of the "Doha Political Declaration," which commits to prioritizing poverty eradication, full employment, decent work, and social inclusion, while addressing challenges such as inequality, demographic shifts, and climate change. The declaration also emphasizes a renewed focus on social justice, strengthened social protection, and alignment of social development efforts with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
UNICEF played a central role in the Doha Social Summit, championing child rights and positioning children and youth at the heart of global social development agendas.
The organization contributed to high-level panels and technical sessions on child poverty, universal social protection, disability inclusion, youth mental health, education, and climate resilience.
