Public Partnerships
UNICEF public partners in the Gulf play a crucial role in humanitarian and development aid, particularly focused on supporting humanitarian responses across the globe. The Gulf countries, guided by their national visions and motivated by willingness to support vulnerable children and their families.
Our partnership is geared towards leveraging commitments and resources for children.
This objective has three distinct and mutually reinforcing elements:
- Strengthen the UNICEF strategic partnerships with all five States to advance child rights in the Gulf, the MENA region and globally;
- Advocate for optimal public financing for children, and leverage existing government social protection expenditure to focus on the most vulnerable children;
- Strengthen existing partnerships and develop new ones to mobilize commitments and resources for children in the Gulf, the MENA region and globally.
Support from the government in the Gulf countries
For more than 50 years, UNICEF has recognized the critical role of the governments in achieving sustainable change for children. We witnessed strengthened partnerships in the Gulf with the strategic government partners aiming to advance the child rights agenda in the Gulf and beyond.
