More information about the exhibition
Greece registers one of the highest proportion of children among victims of human trafficking in the EU. It is estimated that the real numbers are much higher, as many cases remain underreported. Migrant and refugee population – especially women and children - are at particular risk of human trafficking, due to their vulnerable legal status, their precarious living conditions and the lack of sustainable solutions. Hence, the need for targeted actions against human trafficking has become all the more urgent.
The paintings reflect the following key messages:
- “Human Trafficking is Slavery”
- “I won’t fall into the trap”
- “I am not for sale”
- “Break the chains”
- “Take action, you can help”
The 5 artworks that received the highest number of votes, will be awarded a special prize. In addition, the most voted artworks will be converted into posters and cards to raise awareness and inform about human trafficking in 4 languages.
