The Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea actively participates in international efforts to promote K-health globally. Korea's involvement in the annual WHO Executive Board and World Health Assembly contributes to establishing international standards and frameworks for global health. Since joining the WHO Executive Board in 2020, Korea has played an enhanced role in the global health agenda. The government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic gained widespread attention, as did its support of the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator, which sought the equitable distribution of vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics. Korea continues to contribute to improving global health and welfare through its participation in various platforms and organizations, including the OECD, ASEAN +3, UN, G20, and APEC. UNICEF’s engagement with the government on health issues is primarily through the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, and the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare.
