UNICEF’s line ministry within the Government of the Republic of Korea
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of Korea is UNICEF’s line ministry within the Government of the Republic of Korea. MOFA, and in particular the Multilateral Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Assistance Division under the Development Cooperation Bureau, provides UNICEF with strategic guidance on our engagement with Korean government offices. The Ministry also contributes core resources, humanitarian funding, and Junior Professional Officers (JPOs) to UNICEF. The strategic partnership between MOFA and UNICEF underscores how shared values, financial support, joint advocacy, and technical engagement can advance the child rights agenda worldwide. The unwavering commitment of the Government of the Republic of Korea to UNICEF's mission has impacted the lives of millions of children globally and will continue to do so as we expand our partnership further.
