Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education in Korea is mandated with providing quality education to all Korean citizens and to nurturing a society founded on lifelong learning, creativity, and innovation. The Ministry is also a pioneer of advanced digital technologies, including through its Digital Transformation of Education Initiative, which promotes personalized, technology-driven, accessible education. In terms of ODA policy, the Ministry actively collaborates with global education leaders, driving discussions on educational priorities and promoting international exchanges. It is committed to sharing best practices in the Korean education system with international partners. UNICEF’s collaboration with the government on education issues is primarily at a technical level through the Korean Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation and the Korean Educational Development Institute.
