The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) is the Republic of Korea’s central agency specializing in public health management and healthcare research and development. KDCA’s strategy is to protect people from infectious diseases and build a safe society in the Republic of Korea; reduce the national disease burden through effective chronic disease management; and secure research and development capacity in healthcare to prepare for and respond to disease risks. This specialized agency sits under the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare and is led by a vice-ministerial-level Commissioner. KDCA provided COVID-19 vaccines to UNICEF during the pandemic, and UNICEF and KDCA are currently exploring a strategic partnership that will align our global health agenda goals.
