KERIS and UNICEF

In 2021, the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS) and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance their collaboration in the field of digital education, mainly focusing on children in developing countries.

This agreement encompasses several key objectives:

Joint Research: The MOU aims to facilitate collaborative research initiatives in education, specifically focusing on development cooperation. By working together, KERIS and UNICEF intend to contribute to advancing educational opportunities for children in developing nations.

International Event Co-hosting: The partnership seeks to co-host international digital education and child development events. KERIS and UNICEF aim to foster knowledge exchange and global dialogue on innovative educational approaches by organizing joint conferences, seminars, or workshops.

Collaboration Opportunities: The MOU aims to identify and pursue diverse collaboration opportunities to benefit children in developing countries. KERIS and UNICEF will explore joint projects, initiatives, and programs that promote digital education and support the educational needs of children in underprivileged regions.

As part of its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, KERIS plans to share its valuable experience in Korean online remote education and actively contribute to its global expansion. Furthermore, KERIS recognizes the signing of this MOU as an exceptional opportunity to cultivate its partnerships in digital education in collaboration with UNICEF. Ultimately, KERIS aims to strengthen its role in promoting digital education, ensuring that students worldwide can exercise their fundamental right to education.
