Promoting multilateralism with Seoul-based UN agencies

UN Korea
The War Memorial of Korea

The UNICEF Seoul Liaison Office works closely with other Seoul-based United Nations agencies to collectively engage with the Government of the Republic of Korea. Our aim is to jointly support the government’s efforts to maximize its financial and technical investments in development and humanitarian issues, and to underscore the importance of the multilateral system as a partner to the government, capable of delivering impactful results on the ground.

In 2023, we organized a Climate policy dialogue, which showcased to Korean government partners and academics how the UN is responding to the Climate crisis.  We also participated in the 2023 World Scout Jamboree, which was an opportunity to educate participating scouts from around the world on the SDGs and the UN’s role in responding to current development and humanitarian challenges.  Seoul-based UN agencies also meet regularly with visiting senior UN leaders on our collective collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Korea and its expanded ODA portfolio and policies.
