About

The internet and digital technologies have changed how children access information, communicate, and engage with the world. While technology provides remarkable opportunities for children to learn, explore, and connect with others, it also presents risks, including the potential for online child sexual exploitation and abuse (OCSEA).

The government of Ethiopia proposes these standard guidelines to support social welfare and criminal justice professionals effectively in preventing and responding to OCSEA.

The guidelines offer strategies for raising awareness of online risks among children and caregivers, instructions on how to identify OCSEA cases, an overview of the legal framework for prosecuting such cases, and recommendations for protecting the rights of survivors.
