Evaluation of Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition Programme in DPR Korea
Evaluation of Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition Programme in DPR Korea

Highlights
This is an independent Evaluation Report of the Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition Programme supported by UNICEF in DPR Korea 2015–2017.
Trough the evaluation, the context-adapted programme strategy was validated. The CMAM programme has been relevant to children’s needs and responded to emergency-related spikes of malnutrition. The highly effective programme averted an estimated 7,581 under-five children’s deaths in 2015-2016 and provided appropriate treatment for over 180,000 acutely malnourished children. The programme expansion was accompanied by a remarkable consistency of practice, but efficiency gains can be realised by calibrating treatment protocols.
