World Children’s Day 2026
Fun Run for Children & UNICEF Village
World Children's Day is UNICEF's global day of action for children, by children. Celebrated every year around 20 November, it marks the adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the world's most widely accepted human rights treaty.
Cambodia ratified the Convention in 1992, demonstrating its commitment to protecting and promoting the rights of every child. In Cambodia, World Children's Day is an opportunity to:
- Celebrate children's achievements
- Amplify the voices of children and young people
- Promote education, health, protection, and inclusion
- Inspire action on issues such as climate change, mental health, and child participation
- Renew our commitment to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and to ensuring every child can learn, grow, dream, and thrive
Because when children succeed, communities succeed. And when young people are empowered, the future shines brighter for everyone.

Celebrate at a School Shaping the Future
This year's World Children's Day is proudly hosted at Hun Sen Rolous Secondary School, one of Cambodia's leading examples of youth leadership, innovation, and climate action.
With support from UNICEF and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, the school has become a model for Local Life Skills Education (LLSE), helping students develop critical thinking, leadership, problem-solving, and community engagement skills. Students don't just learn in the classroom, they identify challenges in their communities and work together to create solutions.
The school is also a climate-smart school and home to UNICEF's Youth Solar (YOSO) initiative, where young people learn about renewable energy, environmental sustainability, and climate resilience. Through STEM education, digital learning, and youth-led environmental projects, students are gaining the skills they need to lead Cambodia into a greener and more innovative future.
When you join World Children's Day 2026, you're not only celebrating children's rights, you're also witnessing the incredible achievements of young people who are already making a difference in their communities.
