Launch of the Public Expenditure Review in Health
Highlights
UNICEF and the World Bank has launched the Botswana Health Public Expenditure Review (PER). Covering fiscal years 2017/18 to 2020/21, the PER provides an in-depth analysis of health financing, equity, and system performance, with the aim of maximizing efficiency, sustainability, and impact of investments in human capital. The findings highlight critical priorities for improving resource allocation, strengthening implementation capacity, and enhancing data use for decision-making. This joint analytical work underscores the importance of strategic investment to safeguard health gains and accelerate progress towards universal health coverage in Botswana.
