This document was created by Claire O'Kane and the UNICEF team in February 2023, with input and feedback from young people. The list of the Top 20 Essential Actions is intended for adults who manage participation events involving travel and overnight accommodations for 10-24-year-old participants. It is accompanied by a list of the Top 10 Most Important Actions for Youth.

These documents encourage best practices, build upon UNICEF's Engaged and Heard! Guidelines on Adolescent Participation and Civic Engagement and complement UNICEF's tip sheet series
