The UNICEF Zimbabwe Country Office is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from established, reputable, reliable and legally operating Taxi Companies and/or Radio-Taxi Companies in Harare to provide timely adhoc, short-notice request as well as long-distance taxi services, as and when required.  The Company/Institutions must be legally registered and operating in Zimbabwe with a functioning team of qualified, trained, safe English-speaking drivers, high-quality well-maintained taxi vehicles with adequate two-way communication facilities.  “Twenty-four/7” working hours is desirable.   Taxi services are required mainly in Harare with occasional runs to other Provinces/Districts. 

This opportunity is open to companies/institutions/cooperatives registered and legally certified to operate in Zimbabwe only.  Individuals, private taxi owners and drivers will not be accepted for consideration.  Taxi Companies/Institutions must be legally existing entities with past experience and a functioning taxi company.  Evidence of current operations, practices and standards will be required.  Reference from past contracts/customers will be reviewed for similar jobs/contracts. 

The successful company(ies)/institution(s) could, after establishment of quality, safe and reliable services, be requested to render similar services to other international UN Agencies in Zimbabwe as an expansion of the Long-term Agreement. 

The scope of review, registration and qualification work will include a review and assessment of current existing company operations, infrastructure, staff and management.

Interested Companies/Institutions with the relevant infrastructure and required expertise and capacity should write to serviceszim@unicef.org, providing their company profile, details of their company/institution, experience, operations and other details, to become registered and to receive a copy of the relevant Request for Proposal (RFP) that will be issued to potential contractors who will be invited to submit Proposals/Offers.  Four signed hard copies of the complete registration company profile, supporting documents with soft copies on a CD/DVD must be delivered in a sealed envelope to the Service Contracts Unit, UNICEF – United Nations Children’s Fund, 6 Fairbridge Avenue, Belgravia, Harare, Zimbabwe, Attention: Ms Maud Chimedu. The envelope must be clearly labelled “EXPRESSION OF INTEREST ZIM/2014/004-0 – Taxi Services”.
