Highlights

In 2024, Zambia faced its worst drought in decades and a severe cholera outbreak, affecting millions. UNICEF responded with wide-ranging interventions across health, nutrition, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), education, child protection, and social policy. Key achievements included increased vaccination coverage, improved maternal and child health, expanded early childhood education, strengthened child protection systems, and broader access to clean water and sanitation. The organization also supported policy reforms, capacity-building, and emergency responses, while advancing child rights advocacy and youth engagement nationwide
